Lofty CRM is a strong choice for real estate teams that want one platform to run their IDX website, lead capture, CRM, automated follow-up and AI-assisted conversations, and it is at its best when the team commits to using the whole system rather than bolting it onto other tools. It is less ideal for teams that already love their own website and only want a CRM. The setup, especially lead source tagging and routing, decides whether it pays off.
This review covers what Lofty is, its core features, how it compares with kvCORE (now BoldTrail) and Follow Up Boss, how to integrate outside lead sources and ads, how to trace closed deals back to their source, and the mistakes we see most often.
What Lofty is.
Lofty is a real estate CRM and lead generation platform, rebranded from Chime in 2023. It is built for individual agents, teams and brokerages, and it combines a branded IDX website, lead capture and paid lead generation options, a CRM with pipeline and transaction tracking, automated nurture sequences called Smart Plans, a dialer and texting, and AI assistant features that can respond to and qualify leads. Brokerages get office-level controls, recruiting tools and reporting across agents.
The pitch is consolidation. Instead of a website vendor, a CRM, a texting tool and a separate nurture tool, Lofty puts all of it on one lead record.
Core features that matter.
IDX websites. Lofty sites pull MLS listings through IDX, with property search, saved searches, listing alerts and registration prompts that turn browsers into leads. Because the site and CRM are the same system, a lead's search and viewing behavior lands on their CRM record, which is useful for prioritizing calls.
Lead routing. Admins can assign leads by rules: round robin, by source, by location or price range, by language, or to a first-to-claim pool. Unclaimed leads can escalate to another agent after a set time. Good routing is the difference between a five-minute and a five-hour first response.
Smart Plans. These are automated sequences of texts, emails, calls and tasks that trigger based on lead source, stage or behavior. Built well, they keep long-cycle buyers and sellers warm for months without an agent remembering to follow up.
AI assistant features. Lofty includes AI-driven tools that can reply to new leads by text, ask qualifying questions, set appointments and hand conversations to an agent, plus assistance with writing messages and summaries. Treat these as a first responder that needs clear rules, review and compliance oversight, not a replacement for agents.
Lofty vs kvCORE (BoldTrail) vs Follow Up Boss.
All three are credible platforms used by productive teams. They differ in what they try to own.
| Factor | Lofty | kvCORE (BoldTrail) | Follow Up Boss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core idea | All-in-one site, CRM and automation | All-in-one platform, often brokerage-provided | Best-of-breed CRM that connects to everything |
| IDX website | Included | Included | Not included, connect a separate IDX site |
| Automation | Smart Plans and AI assistant features | Smart Campaigns and behavioral alerts | Action Plans and Automations |
| Integrations | Common portals and tools, open API | Broad, strong brokerage back-office ties | Very large ecosystem and open API |
| Typical buyer | Teams wanting one vendor and modern tools | Agents at brokerages that license it | Teams that pick their own site and lead sources |
| Main tradeoff | Best when you use the whole platform | Depth varies by brokerage configuration | You assemble and maintain the stack |
Choose Lofty if you want the website and CRM in one system and will commit to its workflows. Choose kvCORE if your brokerage already provides it and supports it well, since the platform cost is often covered. Choose Follow Up Boss if you want the most flexible CRM and are comfortable connecting a separate website and lead sources. We cover the kvCORE side in our guide to kvCORE integrations for real estate lead flow.
On pricing, Lofty is generally sold by quote based on team size and the modules and lead generation services you add, rather than a single public price list. Get the per-seat cost, the website and IDX fees, any ad management fees and the contract term in writing before you compare it with the others.
How to integrate lead sources and ads.
Most teams buy leads from more places than Lofty's own site: portals, Meta lead ads, Google Ads landing pages, open house sign-ins and referral partners. The goal is that every one of those leads lands in Lofty once, with a clean source value, and triggers the right routing rule and Smart Plan.
Tracking closed deals back to source.
Real estate has a long sales cycle, so the lead that closes this quarter may have come in a year ago. If the source was captured correctly at creation, Lofty's transaction and pipeline reporting can show closed volume and commission by source, which is the only honest way to compare a portal against paid social.
Go one step further and send the result back to the ad platforms. When a lead from Google Ads reaches an appointment or a closed transaction, upload that stage as an offline conversion keyed on the gclid, and send the same events to Meta through the Conversions API. That lets the ad algorithms optimize for people who actually transact, not form fillers.
“A real estate CRM that cannot tell you which lead source paid for last year's closings is just an expensive address book.”
What usually goes wrong.
- Sources arrive with inconsistent names, such as Zillow, zillow.com and ZPA, which splits reporting and breaks routing rules.
- Portal leads come in twice, once by native integration and once by parsed email, creating duplicates and double Smart Plans.
- AI assistant replies run without review rules, so leads get messages that do not match the team's tone or compliance standards.
- Smart Plans are copied from templates and never edited, so every lead gets the same generic sequence regardless of buyer or seller intent.
- Agents mark deals closed without linking them to the original lead record, so closed volume never ties back to the source that produced it.
- Click IDs and campaign names are never captured, so ad spend cannot be judged on closings.
Who Lofty fits.
Lofty fits growing teams and small to mid-size brokerages that want a modern website and CRM together, rely on automated nurture for long-cycle leads and have a team lead or operations person willing to own the setup. It is a weaker fit for teams with a custom website they will not give up, or agents whose brokerage already provides a well-supported platform.
Where the software stops and the work begins.
Lofty provides the tools. Someone still has to design the source standard, connect every portal and ad channel, build routing and Smart Plans per lead type, set guardrails for AI assistant replies, register texting, and push closed results back to Google and Meta. That integration and tracking work is what we do for real estate brokerages and teams.
Is Lofty the same as Chime?
Yes. Chime rebranded as Lofty in 2023. The platform kept its core features, including IDX websites, the real estate CRM, automated follow-up and lead generation services, and has added AI assistant features since. If you see older reviews or training videos that mention Chime, they refer to the same product under its previous name.
Is Lofty better than Follow Up Boss?
It depends on what you want to own. Lofty is better for teams that want the IDX website, CRM, automation and AI assistant in one vendor. Follow Up Boss is better for teams that want a focused, highly integrated CRM and prefer to choose their own website and lead sources. Both can produce strong results when set up carefully.
How much does Lofty cost?
Lofty is generally priced by quote, based on the number of users, the website and IDX setup, and any lead generation or ad management services you add, often on an annual contract. Ask for per-seat pricing, setup fees, ad management fees and contract terms in writing, and check Lofty's current sales materials for the latest structure.
Can Lofty integrate with Zillow and Meta lead ads?
Yes. Lofty supports common portal integrations and lead parsing for sources that send email notifications, and its open API or a connector tool can bring in Meta lead ad submissions and custom landing page leads. The important part is assigning a consistent source value to each so routing and reporting work correctly.
Does Lofty track ROI by lead source?
Lofty can report on leads, appointments and closed transactions by source, but only if the source is captured correctly when the lead is created and closed deals are linked to the original lead record. Teams that want ad platforms to optimize on closings should also send those outcomes back to Google Ads and Meta as offline conversions.
