Capabilities / AI Search Optimization

Get cited when buyers ask AI assistants who to hire.

Buyers now ask AI assistants the questions they used to type into a search box, and the answer usually names a handful of companies and cites a few sources.

Step 1 of 2

How can we help you get found?

What do you need help with?

Next: name, email and budget. That’s it.

Being one of them is a different job from ranking a page. Assistants assemble answers from what they can retrieve and trust: pages that state facts plainly, consistent information about who you are across the web, and what reviewers, forums, videos and publications say about you. We audit how the major AI platforms and Google's AI answers describe your company today, fix the entity and structured-data signals that confuse them, publish reference content worth quoting, and build the third-party mentions that assistants lean on. Then we measure it: which prompts cite you, which competitors appear instead, and how much traffic and how many leads arrive from AI referrals. Classic rankings, technical fixes and local search sit with our SEO service. This page covers the work that is specific to AI answers.

What is included

Deliverables, not adjectives.

  1. AI visibility baseline.

A fixed set of buyer prompts run across the major AI assistants and Google's AI answers, recording whether you are named, how you are described, which sources are cited and which competitors appear instead.

  2. Entity and structured data.

Organization, service, product, person and FAQ schema tied into one structured data graph, sameAs links to your real profiles, and name, address, category and founding facts made consistent across directories and profiles.

  3. Citation-worthy reference pages.

Pricing explainers, comparisons, definitions, process pages and FAQs that answer a question in the first sentence, state facts with dates and sources, and are written by or reviewed with your subject-matter experts.

  4. Third-party mentions.

Review profile coverage, answers in the forums and communities your category uses, video explainers, industry directory listings and outreach to publications, since assistants often cite what others say about you over what you say.

  5. Crawler access and llms.txt.

Robots rules reviewed so the AI crawlers you want can reach your pages, server-rendered content they can read, and an llms.txt file summarizing your key pages for the tools that read it.

  6. AI citation and referral tracking.

Prompt tracking repeated on a schedule, AI referral traffic separated from other channels in GA4, and those visits followed through to leads in your CRM.

Questions

About ai search optimization.

What is generative engine optimization, and how is it different from SEO?
Generative engine optimization, also called answer engine optimization or AI search optimization, is the work of getting a brand named and cited inside AI-generated answers. SEO earns a position in a list of links. GEO earns a mention in a written answer, which depends more on clear facts, consistent entity information and what third parties say about you. The two share a foundation of crawlable, well-structured pages, which is why our SEO service handles rankings and technical health while this service focuses on citations and mentions.
How do AI assistants decide which sources to cite?
The details differ by platform and change often, so nobody outside those companies can give an exact formula. What is observable: assistants that search the web retrieve pages much as a search engine does, favor pages that answer the question directly, and draw heavily on sources with independent credibility such as review sites, forums, reputable publications and video. Clear structure, specific facts and consistent information across sources make a brand easier to cite.
Does llms.txt actually do anything?
It is a proposed convention, not a standard that every AI platform has committed to read, at the time of writing. It is cheap to publish and does no harm, so we add it, but we do not sell it as the reason a brand gets cited. Crawler access, page content and third-party mentions matter far more.
Can you guarantee we will appear in AI answers?
No. AI answers vary by prompt, user and moment, and no one controls them. What we can do is remove the reasons you are being left out, build the signals assistants rely on, and measure a fixed set of prompts over time so you can see whether mentions and citations are rising.
How do you measure AI search visibility?
Two ways. First, a tracked set of real buyer prompts is run on a schedule across the major assistants and Google's AI answers, recording mentions, descriptions and cited sources. Second, visits from AI assistants are separated in GA4 by referrer and followed into the CRM so you can see leads and revenue, not only mentions. Some AI traffic arrives without a referrer, so we treat the referral number as a floor.
Do we need to be on Reddit, YouTube or review sites?
Usually, yes, in whichever places your buyers already go. Assistants frequently cite forum threads, videos and review profiles when answering buying questions. We help you show up there honestly: complete review profiles, genuine answers from your experts, and useful video. We do not post fake reviews or disguised promotion, which platforms remove and regulators treat as deception.
Should we block AI crawlers?
That is a business decision, and there are trade-offs. Blocking training crawlers keeps your content out of some model training, while blocking the crawlers that fetch pages for live answers can keep you out of citations. We map which crawlers do what at the time of the audit and set robots rules to match what you want.
How long before we see changes?
Assistants that search the live web can reflect new pages and fixes within weeks once those pages are crawled. Descriptions drawn from older training data and third-party sources change more slowly. We report monthly on the tracked prompts and on AI referral traffic rather than promising a date.
